History
In May of 1986, the owners of the Harmony Hills Recreational Corporation,
Inc. transferred their property by Gift Deed to SCC. This property
was originally a recreational area for the private use of the Harmony
Hills property owners. Upon transfer of the property, the owners
from Harmony Hills retained the rights of membership to SCC until
1997.
The Sedona Community Center is a nonprofit organization, 501 (c)
(3) as ruled by the Internal Revenue Service and the State of Arizona.

Facility
The
SCC building was remodeled in 1992 to include one large hall seating
up to 85, a small lobby room for meetings of up to eight, two offices,
bathrooms and a working commercial kitchen. In 1997, a Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) made it possible to add on a dining
room, new offices and lobby, a basement and a landscaped parking
lot. In 2004 our backyard pool was converted to a saltwater pool.
A ramada with bathrooms and a shower was built with the help of
another CDBG grant. Our pool-lift was added in 2005 to make our
pool fully handicapped-accessible. Find
out more about our facility rental.
Membership
SCC
is a membership organization with annual dues. Membership is open
to all community members over the age of 21.
SCC,
and all of its programs, are supported through our membership. Discounts
are available for couples and families. The benefits of membership
include admission to our members-only seasonal dinner parties, reduced
fees for classes, events and for facility rental, and the use of
our saltwater swimming pool during the summer season. We invite
you to join our family!
